DeLuca

“Down To The Wire” was released on Epic Records in 1986. The album was in the making for at least a year before it was created.

Tom was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania but grew up in Lake Worth, Florida. He played with many bands in bars and clubs all over southern Florida before he moved to Nashville in 1977. Within a couple of months he was signed as a writer to Charley Pride’s publishing company, Pi-Gem Music.

He hooked up with the writers that he would eventually co-write “Down To The Wire” - Taylor Rhodes, Gary Harrison, Ronnie Brooks & Howie Tipton. He wrote the Jennifer Rush hit “Heart Over Mind” with Taylor.

Ronnie, Howie and Tom co-wrote “Women In Chains” for Joe Perry of Aerosmith and “Son Of The South” for Southern Rock rebel David Allan Coe, later re-titled as “Son of Detroit” in 2003 for Kid Rock’s album.

In 1984, Southern rockers Molly Hatchet were going to record their album “The Deed Is Done”. Hatchet asked Tom to co-write half of their album. Later, when they invited him to join them on tour, Epic (CBS) Records took notice and signed Tom as an artist.

Tom wrote most of his album with Taylor. By the time Epic sent Tom to England to record the album with James Guthrie (best known for his work with Pink Floyd.

There was quite a lot of hype building up to the release of the album – press, photo sessions, meetings with the label. Finally the day was here – unfortunately for me, the same week of the release, an executive name Lawrence Tisch took over Epic Records. He immediately fired the entire A&R staff, along with the promotion team. In an instant, there was no one left at the label who had ever heard of Tom.

The album essentially was buried in the turmoil and although it did make it into stores, it was never really released. The frustration of the experience and what seemed like a year of wasted time soured him from pursuing another record deal and he returned to his first passion, songwriting.

It’s ironic that over 20 years later, a German Record label from the same country that gave Tom his first songwriting hit, somehow discovered this album and gives it an official release.

Let’s hope that is received like a time capsule from the era when Rock and Roll was king.

Heartlyne - No Retreat No Surrenderrelease date:05.06.2009

HEARTLYNE belong to the best hidden treasures in German Hard Rock history. Founded in late 1986, the young outfit from West Berlin around singer extraordinaire Tommy Heart (SOUL DOCTOR, FAIR WARNING, ZENO), guitarists Chris Lyne (SOUL DOCTOR) and Claus Johannsohn (DOUBLE ACTION), bassist Jogy Rautenberg (SOUL DOCTOR, ex SKEW SISKIN), drummer K.K. and keyboard player Alexander Strauch (SHE’S CHINA, ex SOUL DOCTOR) caused a storm in the Berlin Hard Rock scene even though the music of the band remained to be unreleased until today. During the past couple of years, the requests of the fans for releasing the HEARTLYNE material became more and more persistent. In late 2008 the six ‘old’ band members decided to open the archives for their true fans to release a special vintage sounding collector’s item. And here we are!!! “No Retreat No Surrender” by HEARTLYNE finally will see the light of day in May 2009! The record will be released on YESTERROCK and will be distributed by NL DISTRIBUTION.

Kidd Glove - Kidd Glove

Kidd Glove release date: 09.04.2010

It all started when Motown decided to add a Rock Division to their company. Getting signed to Motown Records at 22 was quite an experience in itself. A guy by the name of Steve Barri was, at that time, the head of A&R at Motown and also the designated producer for this undertaking. They held a huge audition in L.A. which literally consisted of hundreds of contestants to find the perfect “Rock Dude” so I joined the crowds of rock artists that were auditioning and somehow won. I hadn’t researched it much before the audition and remember asking myself, “I wonder what I won.” The answer was forthcoming and I was immediately paired up with a couple of Motown staff writers to begin writing the Kidd Glove album. It was recorded a couple of months later and released with great anticipation and attained great success. As a special bonus this re-issue also includes the first video from that album called “Good Clean Fun.”
Furthermore included are a few bonus tracks from a film called “The Babysitters”. Another bonus song included is the song Paul Sabu wrote about his son titled “Viking Boy.” which has never been released before.

Track list: 1. Good Clean Fun, 2. Killer Instinct, 3. Street Angel, 4. Spirit Of The Night, 5. Fade To Black, 6. Hellzarockin’, 7. Somewhere In A Song, 8. Secrets, 9. Susie Wants To Be A Star
Bonus Tracks: 10. Viking Boy, 11. At War With The Weights, 12. The Babysitters 13. Brothers Forever; Bonus Video: “Good Clean Fun”

Line-Up: Paul Sabu - Vocals & Guitars; Tommy Amato, Mike Baer - Drums; Jeff Steele, Murril Maglio - Bass; Bobby Sandstorm, Tommy Rude - Keyboards
