Multi-faceted songwriter-composer Stan Meissner’s career includes hits internationally as well as in both English and French Canada. Meissner has been a staff songwriter for more than 25 years, under contracts with BMG Music Publishing, Warner-Chappell Music and Irving-Almo / Universal Music. He has written for many international acts such as Céline Dion, Lara Fabian, LeeAnn Womack, Eddie Money, Farmer’s Daughter, Ricochet, Rita Coolidge, BJ Thomas, Ben Orr (The Cars), Alias, Triumph, Darby Mills, Toronto and Lee Aaron among many others. He also composed music for TV and films. Furthermore Stan Meissner has been very active in the songwriting community, working as a tireless advocate to further a more positive environment for creators in Canada and other parts of the world - as treasurer of SOCAN (2003-2009), president of the SOCAN Foundation (2006-2009), president of the Canadian Songwriters Association (2000-2006) and a member of the board of directors of the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame (2000-2006).
As a recording artist, Meissner released three solo albums ‘Undertow’ (1992, MCA), ‘Dangerous Games’ (1983, A&M) and ‘Windows To Light’ (1986, A&M), and with Metropolis’ ‘The Power Of The Night’ (1999, MTM MUSIC). ‘Windows To Light’ featured the hit single and video ‘One Chance’ which was the #1 A/C song of 1987 (The Record Charts).
The re-issue specialist label YESTERROCK is now re-issuing these two ‘Lost Treasures’ of the 80s, which have been very sought after and hard to find for a long time. Both albums are digitally remastered and contain three bonus tracks each.
